We engage CSI participation from every level of the organisation by actively seeking employee community involvement opportunities; communicating these projects through our internal communication channels; and encouraging our employees to get involved.
Lewis employees are invited to forward proposals and suggestions for funding worthy causes in the communities where our employees live and work. Worthy projects are selected in each region where we operate and employees are involved in the selection and handover of funds or merchandise.
Lewis operates a “Give-as-You-Earn” initiative which benefits the Community Chest in the Western Cape and in KwaZulu Natal which serve very worthy charitable causes in their communities.
A campaign was launched via Lewis Live, to all field staff to encourage them to forward details of deserving local community projects. The CSI committee reviews these submissions and deserving causes in communities where we operate are chosen. This initiative ensures that we involve our staff in supporting communities who support our company and creates further staff awareness of our CSI endeavours.
